Procter & Gamble Co. has enlisted Betty White to pitch Tide Vivid White and Bright laundry detergent in a new campaign from Saatchi & Saatchi, New York.

Ms. White, 90, who's recently become one of the foremost pitchwomen in advertising, appearing in ads for such brands as Mars' Snickers, ranks alongside Tom Hanks as the actor with the highest Q Score public favorability ranking.

She'll also appear in online and in-store ads and live on Tide's Facebook page during the afternoon of Aug. 23 to answer questions fans have about "breaking the rules of white," such as not wearing it after Labor Day. Fans can submit questions starting Aug. 13 and up to a week in advance on Tide's Facebook and Twitter pages, using the hashtag #AskBetty.
