Spot TV sales spurt in March

National and local spot TV ad sales shot up 12.3% in March, according to the Television Bureau of Advertising's monthly group time sales survey. Local outpaced national, jumping 13.1% in March, compared to a rise of 11.4% for national spot sales. For the first quarter, total spot sales are up 8.8%, with local of 9.3% and national up 8%.
