Sprint adds a refund plan

Sprint, Kansas City, Mo., today announced it will pay 10% cash back each year to all customers on its residential calling plan, Sprint Sense, which offers a flat long-distance rate of 10 cents per minute during off-peak times. A national TV campaign by J. Walter Thompson USA, San Francisco, breaks tonight.

In the ads, Sprint spokesperson Candice Bergen asks people on the street, "How often do you change phone companies?" and "Could you use some extra cash at the end of the year?" The loyalty-building program will refund 10% of each month's long-distance bill but will not pay the dividend until after 12 months.
