Published on .

Eight cable companies signed letters of intent to join the Kansas City-based Sprint Telecommunications Venture--which includes Sprint, Tele-Communications Inc., Comcast Corp. and Cox Communications--on Monday, potentially extending the venture's reach by 8.8 million homes. Cable affiliates will acquire telephony services according to the venture's specifications, receive a percentage of the venture's local phone revenue, and earn commissions on sale of Sprint long distance services. Joining are Falcon Cable, InterMedia Partners, the Lenfest Group, Marcus Cable, Rifkin and Associates, TKR Cable, Susquehanna Cable and Coastside Cable.
