Sprint breaks Web spot for small business

Published on .

Sprint broke its first commercial online for its small-buisness offerings through McCann Relationship Marketing, New York, a unit of Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson WorldGroup.

Found at sprintbiz.com, the spot features the same animated arrow from Sprint's TV commercials from McCann-Erickson, and encourages people to take the "Small Business Challenge." If the company can't lower a consumer's long-distance bill, it offers to pay $100 in free long-distance service for trying.

The animated Web spot is the first effort from Grain, New York, a new interactive production company spun off from the television production company Charlex, also New York, which created the animated commercials for McCann. Sprint interactive agency VML, Dallas, helped coordinate the online effort.
