Sprint consolidates at JWT

Sprint Corp., Westwood, Kan., consolidated consumer advertising with J. Walter Thompson USA, San Francisco, moving $25 million in spending from its local telecommunications division, which was previously handled by NKH&W, Kansas City. JWT's first local work for Sprint will break in April. JWT already handles Sprint's domestic long distance, Internet, international and college/young adult business. Separately, JWT, San Francisco, named Carol Phillips senior partner-worldwide account director on Sprint, from VP-group account director on the Nextel Communications account at Mullen, Wenham, Mass.
