Sprint PCS begins service

Sprint PCS, an alliance formed by Sprint, Tele-Communications Inc., Cox Communications and Comcast Corp., today launched its wireless service in Fresno, Calif.; Milwaukee; Portland, Ore.; and Spokane, Wash. Remaining markets, including New York, San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Minneapolis, Denver and Seattle will launch on a market-by-market basis in the first half of 1997. Hal Riney & Partners, San Francisco, handles advertising, which will roll out as the service launches in each market.
