Sprint Spectrum to name Riney

Published on .

Sprint Spectrum next week is expected to name Hal Riney & Partners, San Francisco, agency of record for its new estimated $30 million account. Sprint Spectrum is a partnership of Sprint, Tele-Communications Inc., Cox Communications and Comcast Corp. to provide a nationwide network of personal communications services. Describing itself as a "next-generation cellular phone service," Sprint Spectrum plans to launch in 20 of its 32 markets by yearend.

The company had no comment Thursday on the expected appointment. Other agencies participating in the review were Goldberg Moser O'Neill and J. Walter Thompson USA, both San Francisco; and Hill Holliday Connors Cosmopulos, Boston.
