Mr. Cheung is a marketing veteran with 10 years' experiencein the information technology industry. Most recently, hewas a marketing consultant with Evan Barty Associates, providing strategic consultation for new technology and telecommunications start-ups in Hong Kong. Before that, he wasgeneral manager of corporate marketing at New World Telephone,including market strategy, corporate communications and marketing communications.
Meanwhile, Toby Hayward has been promoted from VP of international advertising sales and client services executive toVP of advertising sales. Mr. Hayward, who joined Star TV in1994, now is responsible for the overall advertising salesand international sales operations for all Star TV channelsin Hong Kong and its regional sales offices around the world.
Mr. Hayward also oversees Star TV's research, sales trafficand presentation, client communications and sponsorship activities. His other functions include coordinating the sales andcommunications effort between the international sales forceand the local sales teams based in India, Taiwan and the MiddleEast.
A subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., the Star TV network offers both subscription and free-to-air TV services reaching more than 300 million people across Asia, India and the Middle East.
