HONG KONG -- Star TV, the News Corporation subscription and free-to-air television service for Asia, India and the Middle East, has restructured its Hong Kong advertising sales department into discrete groups to service advertising across different regions. It has also redefined the roles of four senior managers in line with the new organization.

One group in the new department will handle all pan-regional advertising planned in Hong Kong, while other teams will deal with China- focused business.

"The success of the Phoenix Channel and other Star channels in China has meant that in addition to our regionally focused team, we need China sales specialists who understand the issues and the dynamics of marketing in China," says Star TV Director of Advertising Sales Robert Bland. "By restructuring, we intend to provide advertisers with that expertise by providing them with sales personnel who singularly address the very complex China market."

Top management roles in the department will now be: Fanny Chu, vice president, Greater China sales, managing Star TV's Taiwan business and heading up Phoenix Channel sales; Peggy Lam, vice president, Phoenix Chinese Channel, responsible for Phoenix- specific advertising sales both overseas and in China; Bruce Yu, AdSports general manager, responsible for marketing and selling advertising in China for ESPN Star Sports and Channel [V] and Susan McAteer, vice president of advertising sales, Hong Kong, heading up regional ad sales.

Star TV holds interest in Channel [V], EL TV, ESPN, Film Indonesia, Phoenix Chinese Channel, Star Chinese Channel, Star Movies, Star Movies Japan, Star Movies South East Asia, Star Plus, Star Plus Japan, Star Sports, VIVA Cinema, ZEE Cinema and ZEE TV.
