Starcom appoints research head for China

HONG KONG--Media specialist Starcom Worldwide has appointed Scott Thomson as research director for Greater China. Mr. Thomson's responsibilities will include driving the agency's research agenda and maintaining and advancing Starcom's research initiatives in China. His appointment follows key account wins in China from Procter & Gamble Co. and chewing gum marketer Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co.

Mr. Thomson joins Starcom from Taylor Nelson Sofres in Singapore. He previously held positions with Media Audits in London, where he was responsible for the advertising effectiveness department. He joined AMI Jakarta in 1998 as regional account director in charge of the pan-Asian Coca-Cola and British-American Tobacco accounts.

Starcom Worldwide, the independent media services division of Bcom3 Group, operates a network of 28 offices in 18 countries within the Asia-Pacific region.
