Starcom benefits from Asian dot-com growth

HONG KONG--In an indication of the Internet fever that has sweptAsian markets in recent months, Starcom Asia-Pacific is picking up new dot-com business "at the rate of a new win every 10 days," says Executive Regional Director Gary Brown in Hong Kong.

Recent wins include E-Bay Australia, YQCom, Ezywin, E. Vouchers and Smartbuy in Australia;, Nextour, DM Net, Freechal, Neowiz and KSNet in South Korea; and, InformAsia and in greater China.

"The impact of e-commerce and dot-com clients cannot be ignored [given] their rush, determination and investment behind establishing awareness, often through more traditional media, particularly outdoor," Mr. Brown adds.
