Starcom lands Cannon's $100 media account

Published on .

Canon USA has awarded Starcom Media Services, a division of Leo Burnett Co., Chicago, its $100 million media agency of record account, according to executives familiar with the companies. Most of Canon's buying had been at Grey Advertising's MediaCom, New York.

The win continues a string for Starcom, which last week won the $200 million media AOR for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Since October, Starcom has won more than $600 million in media spending, gaining agency of record status for Budget Rent A Car, Sara Lee Corp., Ralston Purina Co. and United Distillers. Executives at Canon and Starcom could not be reached.
