Minneapolis Institute of Arts frequently hosts traveling exhibits from major art galleries around the country. To promote a Henri Matisse exhibit mainly from its own holdings, it needed to dissuade patrons from believing they would be seeing pieces from elsewhere. The Martin/Williams creative team challenge: marry Matisse and Minnesota.

The shop chose the most classic symbols of the state-trees, lakes and snow-to communicate the message. They photographed part of the Boundary Waters area; computer artist Brad Palm redid the shorelines.
