WPP Chief Executive Martin Sorrell's bonus was snatched from his grasp last week when world stock markets dropped.

Under Mr. Sorrell's complicated bonus plan, WPP stock had to remain above a certain price-265 pence-for 60 days on the London Stock Exchange. On the final day of that period, Oct. 28, WPP stock fell with the market to 261 pence. Now
