Stock as incentive

Published on .

In an unusual promotion, Boston Beer Co., marketer of Samuel Adams beer, is offering 30,000 consumers a chance to buy its soon-to-be-issued stock at the same price the big institutions pay for new offerings. The brewer is putting the offer in six-packs of Sam Adams starting this week. Interested consumers must send in the package insert along with a check for up to 15 shares at the initial offering price of $33 a share.
