Patrick Stokes, president of Anheuser-Busch Inc., has been appointed chairman of Anheuser-Busch International, parent company Anheuser-Busch Cos. said today. The move comes on the heels of last December's management changes, which increased A-B's focus on international operations. Mr. Stokes, 57, has run the domestic beer business for a decade, during which time market share has increased 14 percentage points to 47.5%. He succeeds John Purnell as chairman of the international operations; Mr. Purnell will remain on A-B International's board. Anheuser-Busch is the world's largest brewer.
