Strike talks resume

Strike negotiators for advertisers and commercial actors on Oct. 19 began their latest attempt to end the nearly 6-month-old strike. Executives expect negotiations will be more meaningful now that advertisers have given up on demanding a single minimum payment for a broadcast-run commercial and the unions have given up their demand for a pay-per-play model for a cable-aired commercial. Still, the issue of whether the unions have jurisdiction over Internet ads could be a thorny one.
