Study cites unused POP displays

Forty percent of manufacturer-supplied point-of-purchase displays are never used, according to a survey of retailers reported by Marketing Science Institute, Cambridge, Mass. The study reports annual expenditures on retail displays and other point-of-purchase materials total over $12 billion and that some retailers are either reluctant to feature programs or fail to comply with previously established agreements to use POP materials.
