Study: North American Web users rise to 92 mil

The number of Internet users in U.S. and Canada has hit 92 million, according to an April study by CommerceNet and Nielsen Media Research.

Women consumers drove Internet usage, with the number of female online buyers increasing 80% in the past nine months, growing to 10.6 million. Meanwhile, male online buyers increased 22.5% to 17.4 million. The April telephone survey reached more than 7,200 people age 16 and older.
