Style Channel, AOL attract ad dollars

Published on .

The Style Channel goes live on June 3, with marketing sponsorship from Calvin Klein, Spiegel and Guess as well as charter advertiser Giorgio Armani, according to its General Manager Mark Sullivan.

The fashion and lifestyle channel, a joint venture between Cap Cities/ABC and America Online, will add later this year a 20-vendor merchandising mall to its area on AOL and will score at least $1 million in ad revenue by 1997, according to Mr. Sullivan.

Marketing efforts will begin in July, with print ads appearing in Cap Cities/ABC-owned Fairchild Publications (publisher of titles including W and Women's Wear Daily) and distribution of affinity disks through select retailers.
