(June 25, 2001) -- Subaru of America joins other advertisers as an exclusive sponsor of the 2001 Goodwill Games.

The automaker will be the exclusive on-air import car sponsor of the games, which will be broadcast from Brisbane, Australia, on Turner Broadcasting's TNT from Aug. 29 to Sept. 9.

The deal, the terms of which weren't disclosed, gives Subaru in-game media exposure and mentions in promotional ads for the broadcasts. Subaru also receives air time for pre-event vignettes across several Turner TV cable networks.

The other sponsors are New Balance, Chrysler Group's Jeep brand, Gillette Co.'s Duracell brand, Philips Electronics, Qantas Airways and Foster's beer. -- Jean Halliday
