Subaru of America, Cherry Hill, N.J., began its new ad campaign on Monday for the 1996 Outback model. The campaign, featuring actor Paul Hogan, calls the Outback the ``world's first sport-utility wagon.'' The Outback TV campaign includes a three-part series of chase-scene commercials, said Subaru Director of Marketing Mary Treisbach. ``By emphasizing the ruggedness, comfort and safety features of the Outback, we will position the vehicle as a different and better version of the traditional sport-utility vehicle,'' she said. The campaign was developed by Temerlin McClain, Dallas.
