Sunkist site gets Scurvy

Published on .

Sunkist Growers is making an attempt to reach twentysomething orange lovers with the launch of its Web site, www.just1.com. As a mascot for the site, Sunkist introduced Gen-X, extreme-sport-playing, green-haired, Hardy Boy-reading "Scurvy Boy," whose life story will unfold via the site.

The site also features a Java game, "Whack the Scurvites," where players battle Bungee-jumping aliens from the planet Scurvon to save the oranges. And lest viewers think this site is all fun and games, there are subliminal messages that pop up on screen periodically, offering such wisdom as "eat an orange and you'll be able to do long division in your head."
