SUPERHIGHWAY CURIOSITY DOESN'T ALTER TV VIEWING PATTERNS

NEW YORK-An annual Roper Starch survey on public attitudes toward TV found that people who said they are "very interested" in the information superhighway also said they are as likely to watch TV as those who are only "somewhat interested." The national in-home personal interview study of 2,003 adults found that viewing patterns of the 12% of respondents who said they were "very interested" in the superhighway were similar to those of the general population-86% said they watch a major broadcast network or a local station during a typical week, compared with 87% of the general public.
