Swedish digital TV project may be postponed

Published on .

STOCKHOLM--Four commercial TV channels in Sweden are not expected to start sending digital TV terrestrial broadcasts on January 31, as originally planned. In a joint letter to the government, the four channels--Canal+, Kanal 5, TV3 and TV8--asked that the launch of digital TV be postponed. Nokia, which has developed the set-top boxes required to receive digital broadcasts, says it won't be able to deliver the boxes until March.
