Switchboard introduces online mapping

Published on .

GeoSystems' MapQuest formed an alliance with Switchboard, an online directory, to enable Switchboard users to locate the more than 11 million businesses on interactive maps provided by MapQuest. As the official directory for America Online, Switchboard handles more than five million requests for people and business information each week. Switchboard has also integrated MapQuest map links into its display ads, which also contain the address, phone and product information. "The integration of interactive maps and online business information is a natural union on the Internet," said Perry Evans, president of MapQuest Publishing Group.
