Symantec confirms agencies in review

Published on .

Symantec, Cupertino, Calif., confirmed three agencies are participating in the review for its estimated $15 million to $20 million consumer business. They are: WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather, Culver City, Calif. and Y&R Advertising, San Francisco; True North Communications' FCB Worldwide, San Francisco; plus one yet-to-be-named shop (AA, January 15). Symantec's consumer advertising has been handled in-house; print and online media buying is handled by Carat Freeman, Boston and San Francisco. Media duties also may be reassessed, according to a Symantec spokeswoman. Symantec's total ad budget is $40 million to $50 million.
