AT&T to halt 'most powerful' claim:

Published on .

AT&T Corp., New York, will cease claiming that it offers the "world's most powerful network" in a TV spot that promoted an array of AT&T communication services, the Council of Better Business Bureau's National Advertising Division said. The commercial, "Angela likes Bobby: Our lips are sealed," was created by Y&R Advertising, New York, and challenged by MCI Communications Corp., Washington. MCI said the commercial implied AT&T had the ``most powerful" network for all the services mentioned, which included telephone, fax, cellular phone, pagers and Internet services.
