T. Marzetti to modify label claims

Published on .

T. Marzetti Co. agreed to modify labeling that claimed its refrigerated dressings were "Judged Best Refrigerated Dressing in America 1996-1997" following a review by the Council of Better Business Bureaus' National Advertising Division. NAD held that such a superiority claim could not be made without comparative tests. The labels were challenged by Campbell Soup Co., marketer of Marie's refrigerated dressings.
