AT&T names chief execs of new spinoffs

Alex J. Mandl, currently CEO of AT&T's Communications Services Group, Thursday was named president and COO-designate of the new AT&T. Richard A. McGinn, currently CEO of AT&T's Network Systems Group, and Henry Schacht, currently senior adviser to E.M. Warburg-Pincus, were named president and COO-designate and chairman and CEO-designate of the new $20 billion equipment company spinoff, respectively. Lars Nyberg, currently CEO of AT&T Global Information Solutions, will become chairman of the board when GIS becomes an independent company.
