AT&T, Pepsi, Lucent lay claim to new slogans

During the week of Dec. 18, several high-profile companies filed trademarks on a variety of expressions, according to Internet search Web site Company Sleuth. AT&T Corp. filed for "Wherever you're stationed, we stand ready to serve"; Pepsi-Cola Co. filed for "The meanest, baddest total beverage company on the globe"; Lucent Technologies filed for "Bringing data to life"; and Apple Computer filed for "Works for me."
