AT&T runs info highway infomercial

Published on .

AT&T is taking its push for local telephone service competition directly to the consumer with a 30-minute infomercial that will begin airing in 20 cities starting Sunday. The infomercial, called "The Street You Live On--The Information Superhighway and You," includes four commercials pushing AT&T's viewpoint on pending telecommunications legislation. At the end of the program, viewers can call an 800-number to request a brochure about the information superhighway or about local phone competition.
