AT&T unit is Lucent

AT&T Monday gave the name Lucent Technologies to its estimated $20 billion network equipment and technology company, to be spun off this spring. Landor Associates, a San Francisco-based sister company of Young & Rubicam, handled the naming and design of the new brand, whose logo is red. FCB/Leber Katz Partners, New York, handles the account, which will be headquartered at Bell Laboratories' main facility in Murray Hill, N.J.
