AT&T WIRELESS NARROWS REVIEW TO THREE AGENCIES

(June 19, 2001) -- The review for AT&T Corp.'s estimated $400 million AT&T Wireless account has narrowed to three agencies.

Review consultant MagiKbox, Cos Cob, Conn., said Publicis Groupe's Fallon, Minneapolis, was cut from the list of finalists. The remaining agencies are True North Communication's FCB Worldwide, New York; WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York; and Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa del Rey, Calif.

FCB, New York, is considered the incumbent; the agency's San Francisco office held the wireless account since 1995.

The four agencies were informed today of the decision. The three finalists now will advance to a session with top executives from AT&T Wireless including Chairman-CEO John Zeglis. That session is tentatively slated for June 29 at an off-site location as yet to be determined.

At the meeting, the agencies will present an executive summary, after which a decision is expected fairly quickly. AT&T Wireless has set July 9 for its spin-off from AT&T Corp. -- Tobi Elkin
