Taco Bell barks at BK's Whopper

Published on .

Taco Bell, Irvine, Calif., in new print and TV ads claims consumers prefer its new meaty Gordita taco over Burger King's Whopper. Page ads in today's USA Today and Los Angeles Times show Taco Bell's chihuahau mascot stomping a Burger King crown and declaring, "Hasta la vista, Whopper." An introductory 15-second spot from TBWA Chiat/Day, Venice, Calif., breaks on network TV July 8, followed by two :30s to run through mid-August. Burger King could not be reached for comment at deadline.
