The sneaker wars are beating a path to Portland.

The city in Oregon, home to Nike agency Wieden & Kennedy, is now being scoped out by Adidas shop Leagas Delaney. Leagas plans to open a Portland office to service Adidas' U.S. ads.

Therein lies a difference in strategies. While Adidas is sticking with its longtime shop around the world, Wieden feels it necessary to enlist outside help to meet Nike's needs overseas.

On the home front, Reebok appears to be finally hitting its stride in efforts to become the Nike of the '90s.
