Talk Media, Hearst reach deal

Published on .

Miramax Films, New York, and Hearst Magazines reached a joint venture agreement to publish Talk, the general-interest monthly magazine to be edited by ex-New Yorker Editor Tina Brown. The first issue will debut with 500,000 copies this August. Hearst will provide manufacturing and circulation for the magazine, including newsstand and subscription fulfillment operations. Talk Media will handle all editorial, ad sales and marketing for the magazine. The Hearst deal extends only to Talk magazine and its related Web site. Talk Media and Miramax plan to produce TV programming and books from content in Talk.
