Tarantino film gets PG-rated Web site

Published on .

Open Book Systems, Rockport, Mass., has created a Web site and contest for the upcoming Quentin Tarantino movie "From Dusk til Dawn." The site features a contest calling on Tarantino fans to create their own Web sites promoting the movie. Winners will receive a private screening for 50 of "From Dusk til Dawn."

Because the movie leans toward violence and vulgarity, OBS could not "tell it like it is" by posting film clips or script samples, in light of the government's pending legislation regarding free speech on the Internet.

"New legislation could threaten us with $100,000 in fines and three years in jail if we post film clips," said OBS President Laura Fillmore. "Our solution was to create a resource for fans to express themselves." OBS created a dual site featuring under-18 and over-18 entry.
