Target, AOL launch online marketing, promotion initiatives

Published on .

Target Stores and America Online are rolling out the companies' joint marketing and promotion initiatives, including distribution of CD-ROMs featuring a special edition of the AOL service, with co-branded features and packaging, at more than 900 Target Stores nationally and via a special toll-free line. These AOL special editions give Target customers a special deal on AOL service as well as a 10% discount for up to one year on merchandise purchased at target.com. The co-branded AOL service offers direct links to target.com; a customized tool bar and a pre-populated "favorites" folder linking to target.com and other favorite sites. Target.com is now featured across the AOL network. Target also is promoting the new AOL package in circulars and TV and print ads.
