Target has provided a $1,500 grant to underwrite for one year FAX Net 1, which allows the public to access recorded messages about crime in Phoenix's six police precincts. A police officer's voice names Target as the sponsor. The information is also offered by fax.
In celebration of the opening of a new Target store in Phoenix, grants were given to several not-for-profit organizations, said Jean Bauer, asset protection manager at the new store. She selected FAX Net 1 based on a recommendation by the Phoenix Police Department.
FAX Net 1 has been providing crime news to the public for five years. Ms. Bauer said the service is in line with Target's overall commitment to crime prevention.
"Target Stores around the country works closely with local police departments on a variety of programs," she said.
