He will be replaced on an interim basis by Helayne Spivak, former worldwide creative director at J. Walter Thompson Co., until she resigned in November 1997. She will be acting creative director and will work with Tatham President-CEO Gary Epstein. Ms. Spivak has been consulting for Tatham's sister agency Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York. In January, she lost a $25 million defamation and sexual discrimination suit against JWT.

Tatham has set up a creative task force to run the department until a permanent replacement is found for Mr. Welke.
