Ford Motor Co.
has put together a big-impact media plan for its estimated $110 million introductory effort for the radically redesigned Ford Taurus. Ford will be the exclusive auto sponsor on ``The Beatles Anthology,'' the three-night special airing in November on ABC. Ford also will be the sole sponsor in a special ``Classic Football'' issue of Sports Illustrated
, an Elle
special issue devoted to ``ELLEments of Style'' and Life's special ``Beatles Collectors Issue.'' Taurus ads also will be in nine of the first 17 pages of four newsweeklies and six monthly magazines in October, and the Oct. 2 USA Today
will include eight pages of Taurus ads. Themed ``Making the dream come true,'' the Taurus campaign from J. Walter Thompson USA, Detroit, is heavy on lifestyle and music. TV and radio teaser spots are currently running, with the full campaign kicking in on Oct. 1.
