Currently, BBDO client Gillette is acquiring Duracell, a competitor with Ralston Energy Systems. Although the deal is not expected to effect Duracell's agency roster, if Gillette reviewed the account and assigned the work to BBDO, it would effect the pitch. "The final acquisition is by yearend and if Gillette decides that BBDO should handle Duracell, of course they will no longer work for us,'' says Burch.
