TBWA BUYS STAKE IN TORONTO DIGITAL BUSINESS SHOP

TORONTO -- Omnicom Group's TBWA Worldwide has acquired 80% of interactive agency Communicopia, a Toronto digital business solutions agency with a staff of 70 and a reputation for Web and business application development.

The buy will help TBWA/Chiat/Day, Toronto, to increase its interactive expertise and will allow Communicopia to grow its operations internationally.

TBWA/Chiat/Day and Communicopia will continue to work as separate entities under TBWA Worldwide, but will collaborate to further develop the interactive expertise for each of their clients.

Communicopia, whose management will remain in place, works for clients such as TD Asset Management, CDNX, Spectrum Investments, Merrill Lynch Investment Advisors and Manulife Financial. -- Gail Chiasson
