TBWA launches online research unit

MILAN -- Ira Matathia, chairman of TBWA Italy, has formally announced the launch of TBWA's Department of the Future which will monitor global communications media and conduct consumer research online.

Matathia, co-founder of the enterprise with sociologist and author Marian Salzman, will oversee the project from Amsterdam. TBWA has also launched a weekly newsletter, Fame+Flame, which deals with current consumer market issues, including data taken from the Internet.

TBWA will also release Brainfood, a twice monthly series of written reports based on the Department of the Future's findings and insights.
