TBWA launches online research unit

Ira Matathia, chairman of TBWA Italy, formally announced the launch of TBWA's Department of the Future which will monitor global communications media and conduct consumer research online.

Matathia, co-founder of the enterprise with sociologist and author Marian Salzman, will oversee the project from Amsterdam. TBWA has also launched a weekly newsletter, Fame+Flame, which deals with current consumer market issues, including data taken from the Internet.

TBWA will also release Brainfood, a twice monthly series of written reports based on the Department of the Future's findings and insights.
