TBWA loses some N.Y. creatives

At least four creative-side staffers, including Chief Creative Officer David Page, have left TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York, the week of Sept. 14, said executives close to the agency. A TBWA spokesman confirmed Mr. Page "is no longer with the agency'' but wouldn't comment on the status of other employees. A creative recruiter and several other staffers were asked to leave in what could lead to a New York restructuring, one executive said. The spokesman said there are 23 creative staffers at the New York office. Another executive said the shifts are a result of New York President-CEO Carl Johnson's emphasis on the office's creative output. Speculation was that top executives at TBWA's Los Angeles area office weren't informed about the New York departures. The TBWA spokesman decline to comment on that issue, but added, "This is purely from the New York office.'' TBWA executives in Playa del Rey, Calif., weren't available for comment. One executive close to the agency said TBWA is in rocky shape on its Circuit City Stores account, which Mr. Page worked on, but the spokesman said, "That's not the case at all.''
