TBWA snatches Martell Cognac's $46 million global task from O&M

LONDON-- TBWA Worldwide has taken the Seagram Spirits & Wine Group's $46 million global business for Martell Cognac from the incumbent, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. TBWA is an Omnicom Group agency; O&M is part of WPP Group.

The appointment followed a pitch against Seagram roster shop GreyAdvertising.

The business will be run from TBWA GGT Simons Palmer, London, with additional creative contributions from TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York. The pitch team included the London, New York and Hong Kong offices as the brief covers the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific.

A campaign is expected to break by mid-2000 and will include TV, radio, print and outdoor.

Seagram, a division of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, produces and markets brands such as Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet Scotch whiskies, Crown Royal,Seagram's Extra Dry Gin, Sandeman ports and sherries and Don Julio tequila, among others.
