TBWA wins AXN account in Asia

Published on .

SINGAPORE--The action movie channel AXN Action TV has awarded its advertising account in Asia to Omnicom Group's TBWA Worldwide, Singapore. Billings were not disclosed. Lorna Swinstead, senior manager of marketing and communications at AXN, says the agency will be: "Looking after creative for the region -- the three satellite feeds to East Asia, Taiwan and India -- and helping to manage the next phase of AXN's brand development."

The new account was assigned without a pitch. Ricky Ow, AXN Asia's VP-advertising sales, previously worked at regional satellite channel Asia Business News (ABN), where TBWA Singapore CEO David Fong worked on the account with ABN, which merged with CNBC Asia and hired Bartle Bogle Hegarty. Mr. Fong recently moved to TBWA Canada.
